TEACHING

The courses I teach focus on archaeology and different aspects of world prehistory, with the notion that archaeology is one of the most important conceptual tools through which we can come to understand the human past. With written history being constrained to the past 5000 years and to particular perspectives, archaeology and related fields provide the tools and opportunities to holistically explore the story of humankind from 5 million years ago to the present. To illuminate where we are going as a species and as a collection of diverse cultures, societies, and individuals, we must understand how we arrived at where and who we are today through an ever-deepening knowledge of and appreciation for where we come from.
